What pair of synonyms are a Rot-13 of each other?

(If there are comments, assume they may give away the answer.)

Nice. Where did you find the puzzle?

I was hoping for some longer words :-)

I'll note here that the longest words that I found that were Rot-13's of each other were "abjurer" and "nowhere". I didn't find any others longer, and I checked through 16-letter words.

Hmm, Rot-13 poetry . . . Could at least do someting phonetic with some of those wacky 3-letter words.

For example:

Bin bon bob -> Ova oba obo

I came up with it myself, playing with rot-13 back in college.

I'm curious to know if you came up with the same pair I did!

abjurer<->nowhere -- neat.

I'm pretty sure there's only one: irk <-> vex

Shakespeare was fond of putting rot-13 words next to each other in his quotes.

Well, he did it once, and it was famous.
Twice, actually.

Oops! It was actually only once. I should pay more attention.

Now, what was the question?

The question was, "what was the shakespeare quote?" Silly.

[livejournal.com profile] mattlistener, [livejournal.com profile] mattlistener, [livejournal.com profile] mattlistener. You are better at riddles than that. I won't give you the answer, but anything I say might be a clue. Or maybe not. Is it, or isn't it?

Had me confused -- thought you were saying the quote was famous for its rot-13 neighbors feature.

Sounds like "...be, or...".
