Yay for Brandi!

mattlistenerJust before I woke up this morning, I had a quite yummy and self-affirming dream.
Brandi and I were at a social/discussion event, she asleep next to me on the beanbag. I was talking the two-women couple next to me, and learned that they were definitely going to get married in a few years. No concrete plans yet since the older one wanted to wait until her partner was older (ages 35 and 29 -- I'm 30). I was finding myself quite attracted to the younger one, and was gently scritching her neck while we talked. Maybe it was a polyamorous context -- they both seemed comfortable with my approach. Younger let me know she was really enjoying the attention, moved the straps of her top to the sides so her shoulders would be available, and later took the top off entirely and laid back to put her head in my lap for more attention.
Worth noting here is that I didn't experience any sexual content in this dream -- I was sexually attracted to this woman, but the contact we had was all affectionate rather than sexual. This tends to be my style In Real Life, too.
Anyway, at that point I woke up Brandi (in the dream), so she could get updated on the interesting developments. And then I woke up myself (IRL), saw it was past noon, rolled over and woke up Brandi, and shared the dream with her. Her response, "Oh, I hope you do find another woman to be yummy with, I'd really like that." This is not new information, but it is nice to be reminded!
It is SO nice to be in a relationship where we're both entirely secure with our commitment to each other, and to be encouraged in my still-tentative steps into the romantic world with other people. Yay for Brandi!

Date: 2001-12-25 10:13 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think so too. The thingofitis, I get to know few people, even when exposed to many, and date far fewer than that. Stuff I'm still working on there, and I'm very glad for Brandi's encouragement.
