Surprised?

A study by University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes found that the more misperceptions a person has about the war in Iraq, the more likely it is they get their news from commercial TV.

Especially Fox, as it turns out.

As you may have heard, Roy of Siegfried & Roy was critically injured by a tiger onstage recently. This article from the New York Times puts this event in the context of the history of Las Vegas' shows. S&R led the transition from arousal to amazement in Las Vegas acts (and therefore from an audience of sophisticates to one of families); now the balance is shifting back. (No registration req'd.)

I also appreciated reading, "circus performers have traditionally acted as if they 'had superhuman ability to control the beasts of nature.' But [Roy] Horn made no such claim, depicting himself instead as simply a man who loved animals." --Penn Jillette
