As some may have noticed, I was in NY this week. The net just came back on in the hotel this evening. Brandi and Sean got stuck on a Metro train on the bridge from Brooklyn, and then walked back to the hotel on 49th st, which was harsh. Fortunately I was in the hotel when the blackout hit, and goings-on outside looked too interesting to ignore, so I went out to see where everyone was going, and ended up directing the massive waves of foot-traffic at the Queensborough bridge.

My last day of OS X Server class didn't happen, alas, and I wasn't able to re-enter the building to retreive my manual or sweatshirt. So I'll be looking for a suspects express from NY once I get in contact with the Apple folks about my stuff...

Glad to hear you're ok! How far of a walk is it from the Brooklyn bridge to 49th St? I have no concept. Was the black out horrible? Were people freaking out? What was the worst part and the best part of it in your opinion?

actually it was the Manhattan Bridge we got stuck on. And I think it was about 60 blocks? It took us about 2 hours to get back to the hotel. Of course, this was fighting the stream of people who were almost all going in the opposite direction, so it probably took longer than it would have normally. er... if there is a normally :)

Oh, and once we got back we climbed 14 flights of stairs. damn I was tired when I finally collapsed on the bed!
