I am observing that Simon's not completely comfortable in my lap unless he's immobilizing one of my arms with his chin. Normally I use both when I need to and he jumps down within 15 minutes. Tonight I'm typing one-handed, and he's been here (purring, I might add) for 40 minutes.

I once read about some King (England? France? Spain? something like that) in midieval times, who had a cat fall asleep on the sleeve of one of his fancy robes. Rather than disturb the cat's nap, he cut the sleeve off.
