Last week I noticed the HP LJ4 that ceo was using as his desktop printer, and realized my workplace is probably decomissioning such machines right now.

Tonight I brought home an HP LJ5M, stole the parallel->USB cable from my inkjet, shared it on my OSX mac, and printed to it via USB Printer Sharing on my OS9 mac. Yay! Thanks ceo!

I had gotten so tired of the whole inkjet thing. It never reliably printed letter-quality, and the toner cartridges only lasted a few months under what I would consider minimal use.

I thought about seeing if I could snag more for friends, but my sense is that I need to be careful not to over-draw on favors from this person.

I've noticed that at least some ink jet cartridges tend to evaporate once their opened up. Most annoying really.

Buts is also impressive that you can get a good quality color laser printer for only $800ish these days.
