Would anyone like to try two complimentary issues of The Economist? I have such an offer that's good for the first three yesses.

The Economist is by far my favorite printed source of news.

Edit: the complimentary copies will go to beowabbit, r_ness/bedfull_o_books, and bubblebabble. Please email me the postal address you'd like me to use.

I don't need the offer, but I would like to second your opinion of the value of The Economist, for anyone on the fence.

Ditto, with the two caveats that: a) they aren't cheap, so if you get hooked, it may be an expensive hobby, and b) they have a very clear and present bias (pro-free market and individual choice). The plus about the second note is that they're clear on that bias as well and committed to honest and accurate reporting above that, so you get (in my opinion) a clearer sense in reading the articles as to what's fact and what's bias than in most papers.

But overall, very much worth reading.

I wouldn't call them free-market radicals however. They're in favor of sane and reliable regulation, and responsibility for environmental impact. They're also quite willing to document market failures and the peoples that get left behind (eg Mexico and NAFTA).

Is there a catch? I.e., do they bill you and then you have to cancel?

(I know, gift horses and mouths, but I thought I'd ask. Yes, I'm interested. :) )

Sure, why not? :)

I don't know, the little promotion doesn't have details. It will certainly include an invitation to subscribe, perhaps several. I can't imagine me giving them your contact info will lead to your owing them money if you take no action.

So is this an on line deal? By sharing, I meant looking at L's copy / version, not getting one for myself.

Oh -- in my reply above I wasn't answering "can we share?" but "is there a catch?"

We're talking two physical copies of the magazine.

Whether it's the Economist or the Enomist, if there's still one available, I'll bite!
